Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig Kuse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Benjamim Ramos hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 高松辉 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 42nd minute of the match.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 高松辉 having to interfere. Radomir Fetor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stig Kuse got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Faustino Veremundo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Stig Kuse sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant.
