A sloppy throw-in by Armandinho Pirani in the 8th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Panama's Abraham Alguacil. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Freitas came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Arantes in the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. Gildo Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half.
