A very good chance. Alan Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Negri in the 29th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Elano Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. S.C. Reis United's João Paulo Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 37th minute of play. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 minutes, Eliseo Noboa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the S.C. Reis United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Puig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Paulo Urbano having to make a save. In the 46th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Elano Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.C. Reis United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elano Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Benito Sanz, was totally fooled by S.C. Reis United's Luisinho Trancoso, who 63 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrique Trigo in the 67th minute. When Eliseo Noboa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. S.C. Reis United's Alberto Guimarães was substituted for Paulo Renato Trevisan. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 69th minute. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elano Reis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Amadeu Negri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elano Reis got free with Benito Sanz in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to S.C. Reis United getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Elano Reis hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Paulo Urbano. S.C. Reis United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Puig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4.
