Tomás Esiquio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomás Esiquio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Esiquio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Esiquio came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Tomás Esiquio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of the match. After 43 played minutes The Cavern Club got a freekick which was hit by Frank Fabra. After some careless play in the The Cavern Club defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Esiquio. The The Cavern Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Esiquio should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustaquio Palban was the one to do the kick off. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 60 played minutes The Cavern Club got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Gaueko. Tomás Esiquio was a little too slow when Juan Sebastián Puig got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 0-6. After 74 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Eustaquio Palban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Eustaquio Palban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Cavern Club's Tomás Esiquio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ovidio Lehior during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 78th minute. Tomás Esiquio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Esiquio. The Cavern Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. In the 90th minute, Geronimo Vincente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd match minute, The Cavern Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geronimo Vincente to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the game, Marcial Baraquiel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Cavern Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Marcial Baraquiel kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Tomás Esiquio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than The Cavern Club.
