Allan Silm received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Allan Silm slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 20th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Allan Silm was the one to do the kick off. Zorros del Desierto's Zenaido Oviedo was substituted for Pape Lillo. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Clark Kent made a huge save. 74 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Clark Kent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Dijoux blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Dijoux in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Clark Kent in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Alex Dijoux kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Dijoux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's goalkeeper Clark Kent had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Alex Dijoux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 91st minute. When Roberto Vildosola fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zorros del Desierto's protests and gave Roberto Vildosola a yellow card for diving instead. Clark Kent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 94th minute of play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
