Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) In the 4th minute, Guillermo Fontirroig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlton Convine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Casaus in the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Watts in the 7th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Tom Rheistein got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 10th minute Mete Golob shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Chile's Carlton Convine threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Orlando Casaus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner ended in Xavier Figueroa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Glasston's Carlton Convine did a great save. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael van der Vaart in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Rafael van der Vaart cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlton Convine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlton Convine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Watts in the 35th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mete Golob in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Glasston's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Carlton Convine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chile's Francisco Carballar got a free kick in the 44th minute. When Glasston's Rafael van der Vaart in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chile's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. A collision led to Glasston getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Jagger Trevena hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Rafael van der Vaart sent off a good shot on target. Carlton Convine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 61st minute of play. Pedro Indiano hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Rafael van der Vaart in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thiago Pliego, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mariano Lacasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tom Rheistein was slow to take the kick. During this time Glasston's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Glasston's corner Tom Rheistein fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. The nice shot from Rafael van der Vaart in the 77thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Thiago Pliego had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Lacasa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlton Convine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mete Golob. Thiago Pliego stood somewhat misplaced when Rafael van der Vaart came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 85 minute. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael van der Vaart might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael van der Vaart ran back to his position shaking his head. Glasston were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Chile's much stronger midfield.
