The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edson Mendes was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Edson Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olivedos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edson Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Olivedos's zone, Maximiliano Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víktor Mineiro came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute Antônio Carlos Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute of the match Jaime Cazalla shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Víktor Mineiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 79th minute, Maximiliano Escribano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Víktor Mineiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Víktor Mineiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 90th minute. In the 94th minute, Francisco Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Víktor Mineiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Uruguay played a much better game than Olivedos and deserved their victory. The Olivedos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
