Thiago Pliego was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Luciano Selmo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luciano Selmo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Paulino Lamberto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 34th minute of play. Cecilio Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Bartolo Harkaitz got a free kick in the 36th minute. Cecilio Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 39th minute of the match. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulino Lamberto in the 40th minute. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Paulino Lamberto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 45th minute of play. Eriberto Osasun kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cecilio Jax made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Cecilio Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 64th minute of the match. Cecilio Jax was a little too slow when Orlando Casaus got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 2-2. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Marcial Munio replaced Ulises Dominguez. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Orlando Casaus hit a great ball. After 71 played minutes, San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thiago Pliego came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Martin de Tucuman reached it. A hard shot 73 in the game by Mariano Lacasa from a close distance when the talented Cecilio Jax managed to make a qualified save. San Martin de Tucuman's players were relieved. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto. But to his dismay, Paulino Lamberto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Severino Elorri replaced Ubaldo Veto. Marcial Munio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. In the 83rd minute Marcial Munio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 87th match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cecilio Urbez to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto got a free kick in the 90th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Casaus got free with Cecilio Jax in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When San Martin de Tucuman's Marcial Munio in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chile's goalie prevented a goal.
