Atlético Villa Gesell's Dario Bingen got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dario Bingen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Denis Calvino made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Denis Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Denis Calvino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Rudolfo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Denis Calvino firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 36 minutes into the game, Gaston Jerardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Villa Gesell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Gaston Jerardo kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Denis Calvino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute. The audience was convinced that Cornelio Ixidor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Luz Palacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Calvino having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luz Palacio to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play forced Atlético Villa Gesell's goalkeeper Denis Calvino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Felix Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Atlético Villa Gesell's Denis Calvino managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience was convinced that Luz Palacio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denis Calvino was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Denis Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Palacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denis Calvino came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luz Palacio. But to his dismay, Luz Palacio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Ecuador's Luz Palacio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Atlético Villa Gesell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Aztore didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Atlético Villa Gesell's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Denis Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Felix Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. Isaias Eudoxio thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Denis Calvino, a very annoying self made goal in the 69th minute which led to 3-0. In the 74th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Calvino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Villa Gesell made a substitution. Aldo Francis replaced Eriberto Aztore. Atlético Villa Gesell made a substitution. Donato Benino replaced Paulo Rudolfo. The corner ended in Felix Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atlético Villa Gesell's Denis Calvino did a great save. 85 minutes into the match, Atlético Villa Gesell's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Palacio came free, but Denis Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Atlético Villa Gesell's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felix Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Atlético Villa Gesell's Denis Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Donato Benino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
