The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Amadeu Prado in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amadeu Prado made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amadeu Prado. That made the score 3-0 in the 23 minute of play. Amadeu Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After some careless play in the Sport Club Mavericks defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Prado. The Sport Club Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Prado should have stopped the shot. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amadeu Prado. Amadeu Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

Mateus Novaes's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. 56 minutes into the match, Luca Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amadeu Prado. Sport Club Mavericks's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luca Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Amadeu Prado came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. 63 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Amadeu Prado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amadeu Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 67th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Amadeu Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
