Jonathan Tabby was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joshua Secada got a throw-in 26 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Guillermo Mariano. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Guillermo Mariano made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Tomas Illescas immediately put the ball in play. Justino Ederono hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Tabby came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Tabby having to make a save. In the 39th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Tabby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Gaos got a throw-in 47 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tomas Illescas. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Tabby having to interfere. Guillermo Mariano got a throw-in 57 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tomas Illescas. If Joshua Secada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The throw-in from Alex Chicote in the 66th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Punta Alvear's Isidro Rojelio. In the 73rd minute, Patricio Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Tabby was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Tomas Illescas sped through Punta Alvear's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Tabby. 81 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Punta Alvear's Moises Rosio quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 82nd minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Jonathan Tabby stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isidro Rojelio during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Guillermo Mariano made in the 91st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tomas Illescas.
