Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabi Gol's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Gabi Gol kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Nestor Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 24th match minute, América-SC F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nestor Quirino was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when América-SC F.C.'s Kobe Haaland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kobe Haaland in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nestor Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. Kobe Haaland in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabi Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kobe Haaland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabi Gol in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
