Andres Ekhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colombia's attentive Antonio Indiano managed to snatch the ball when Hans-Jürgen Beckenbauer made a throw-in in the 29th minute of the game. Emanuel Olisadebe kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Andres Ekhi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Andres Ekhi in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abel Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ricart Futebol Clube. The supporters of Ricart Futebol Clube booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes Ricart Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Fantini. After the first half Ricart Futebol Clube were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eusebio Hori to strike the kick off in the second half. Luis Cazalla got a throw-in 54 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Antonio Indiano. Eusebio Hori scored 0-3 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 66th minute of play forced Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Andres Ekhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Ekhi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After 72 minutes of play, Ricart Futebol Clube's Eusebio Hori made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Cazalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hans-Jürgen Beckenbauer kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ricart Futebol Clube defense, Abram Secada kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andres Ekhi. The Ricart Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andres Ekhi should have stopped the shot. Andres Ekhi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Secada, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
