David Abad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luka Harris in the 21st minute of the match. Günther Doty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jax Williamson having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Chinese CJ Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Carter George came free, but David Abad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luan Pombo got free with Jax Williamson in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Canada were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Günther Doty made the kick off in the second half. David Abad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rohan Watson in the 56th minute. David Abad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rohan Watson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rohan Watson in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Abad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koby Wright in the 64th minute of play forced Chinese CJ Youth Academy's goalkeeper David Abad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Canada could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Chinese CJ Youth Academy throughout the match.
