Waldir da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir da Mata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 16 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Waldir da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes, Luís de Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CE LAJEADENSE RS and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to CE LAJEADENSE RS getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luís de Lara hit a great ball. Panama's Abraham Alguacil couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for CE LAJEADENSE RS. In the 20th minute, Abraham Alguacil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldir da Mata was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes in the game Jose Carita did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Isidoro Sarmiento. Waldir da Mata dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Waldir da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir da Mata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the game, Panama's Tomas Berganza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldir da Mata made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Waldir da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Panama players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
