In the 14th minute Nanak Liders shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emilio Bazkoare quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Emilio Bazkoare didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Cristian Sancho sped through Regresado's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emilio Bazkoare. Emilio Bazkoare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Regresado made a substitution. Valentin Osorio replaced Nanak Liders. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After having played for 97 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Regresado fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
