Bogdan Mailat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Mailat in the 22nd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Bogdan Mailat came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Mambru in the 33rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Bogdan Mailat came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bogdan Mailat went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alejandro Eliazar's late challenge caught a Colombia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alejandro Eliazar helped the player get up and apologised. After the first half Club Atlético Libertador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emiliano Uchiha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Abram Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emiliano Uchiha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Emiliano Uchiha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 63rd minute of play. Abram Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiliano Uchiha having to interfere. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Emiliano Uchiha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Secada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Secada might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emiliano Uchiha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abram Secada ran back to his position shaking his head.
