Orlando Tafalla's late challenge caught a Guararapes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlando Tafalla helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute, Orlando Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dida Pena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pascual Carballar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Guedes having to interfere. Pedro Manzanares stood somewhat misplaced when Vinicio Bermudo came free in front of goal and shot 2-4 to the left of him in the 82 minute. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Samuel Navarro got a free kick in the 85th minute. José Pedro Cardozo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cristian Cordoba who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Pedro Manzanares when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
