Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Gustau was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Eustacio Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Donato Gustau made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Donato Gustau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Venegas during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeledon Quintin was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Marz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Gustau in the 79th minute of play. If Generoso Hotz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Linea 174 Ramal Castillo's Donato Gustau. But to his dismay, Donato Gustau quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Rafal Zielinski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Linea 174 Ramal Castillo had played much better football throughout.
