Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Cura del Futbol booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Leguizamo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Gilberto Aztore in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moises Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Gilberto Aztore made a huge save. In the 36th minute, Cura del Futbol's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Moises Fernandino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 41 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Yepes. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Gilberto Aztore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Aztore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moises Fernandino's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cura del Futbol players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for El Salvador.
