Moises Gayoso was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Andres Ekhi in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 21 minutes of play, Ricart Futebol Clube's Abel Ramalho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Ricart Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hans-Jürgen Beckenbauer hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 25th minute of play forced Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Andres Ekhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andres Ekhi, 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's Abel Ramalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Ekhi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Doron Bantz who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ricart Futebol Clube's Emanuel Olisadebe to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andres Ekhi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 42nd minute. Alonso Berganza hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Ricart Futebol Clube made a substitution. Eusebio Hori replaced Abel Ramalho. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Hans-Jürgen Beckenbauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricart Futebol Clube's Andres Ekhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ricart Futebol Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Milagros Fraga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ricart Futebol Clube's Andres Ekhi did a great save. Andres Ekhi came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andres Ekhi was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusebio Hori's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Doron Bantz kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Ekhi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andres Ekhi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 81st minute of play forced Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Andres Ekhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milagros Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Ekhi having to interfere.
