Urrutia Chavarria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Sotres having to interfere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Siete de Octubre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ordóñez Caloca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Fausto Sotres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

54 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Urrutia Chavarria came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Siete de Octubre's Aguirre Vialpando got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 61 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. In the 68th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Siete de Octubre's Vellito Loaisa was substituted for Urrutia Chavarria. 82 minutes into the match, Siete de Octubre's goalkeeper Fausto Sotres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Vellito Loaisa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
