Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Tomas Illescas made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute, Venezuela's Patricio Costa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Astor Aragones. Astor Aragones yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Lázaro Bortzaioriz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Teodoro Prado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celedonio Froila, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Lázaro Bortzaioriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Bortzaioriz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on S E Palmeiras's corner Teodoro Prado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. S E Palmeiras were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teodoro Prado took the corner. Guillermo Mariano tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Jonathan Ferrant. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 37th minute. After 41 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. In the 42ndth minute of the game Lázaro Bortzaioriz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Bortzaioriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. A collision led to S E Palmeiras getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Berdaitz Puebla hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lázaro Bortzaioriz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of S E Palmeiras booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Bortzaioriz in the 51st minute of the match. Astor Aragones came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. But to his dismay, Patricio Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. S E Palmeiras's Astor Aragones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 61st minute of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Astor Aragones. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 69th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Astor Aragones showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by S E Palmeiras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Jose Correa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Astor Aragones quite easily take care of the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Astor Aragones narrowly saved just below the crossbar. S E Palmeiras's Lázaro Bortzaioriz got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lázaro Bortzaioriz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Patricio Costa put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Astor Aragones. If Celedonio Froila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Venezuela fans cheered their team off the field, for while S E Palmeiras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
