Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolás Guerrero in the 12th minute of play. Carmelo Sifon scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute Cristian Jimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Real Madrid de Guatemala getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Rolando Guevara hit a great ball. Sílvio Luiz Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Luiz Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Angel Botello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Sifon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Real Madrid de Guatemala's Sílvio Luiz Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 52nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Angel Botello took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Marcos Cotilla to make any attempt to save it. Carmelo Sifon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 65th minute. Real Madrid de Guatemala's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 65th minute, Angel Botello made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Alexander Torres got a free kick in the 81st minute. Nicolás Guerrero kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match.
