Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Freddy Basajaun kicked off to start the match. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Benny Stolpe managed to reach the ball for a save. Işıkalp Özbey tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Benny Stolpe. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 5th minute. In the 10th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benny Stolpe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Daniel Zorita scored 0-3 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benny Stolpe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benny Stolpe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when C.A. BOCA JUNIORS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Montel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Benny Stolpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Stolpe having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Işıkalp Özbey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benny Stolpe came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benny Stolpe having to make a save. C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Fausto Orlondon was substituted for Arnaldo Elivareo.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benny Stolpe was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benny Stolpe, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Primitivo Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Primitivo Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of C.A. BOCA JUNIORS booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Avellaneda in the 74th minute of play. Boruc Gajewski kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Işıkalp Özbey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Benny Stolpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador played a much better game than C.A. BOCA JUNIORS and deserved their victory. The C.A. BOCA JUNIORS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
