Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arne Pettersson. Arne Pettersson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Abalos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Huracan FC's Herminio Abalos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. After having played for 46 minutes, Alvaro Roderigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huracan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Roderigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herminio Abalos made a kick off. With 53 minutes on the clock, Camilo Gaos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 52 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Uriel Mergildo in the 61 minute of the game. After 62 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Herminio Abalos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huracan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Herminio Abalos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Tofani hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Iwan Assendelft who took care of the corner kick. In the 74th minute Joshua Secada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jakub Walec in the 91 minute of the game. Uriel Mergildo charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uriel Mergildo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd match minute, Huracan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uriel Mergildo to maneuver through the defense. Armando Tofani's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando Tofani helped the player get up and apologised. In the 98th minute, Armando Tofani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
