With a little luck, Red Reign's Dawid Ratulowski got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Red Reign's Maximo Villamarin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dawid Ratulowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Red Reign's Dawid Ratulowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Red Reign from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Red Reign's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Red Reign were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Xavion Sorriva took the corner. After taking down the ball on Red Reign's corner Xavion Sorriva fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 28th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 31st minute, Maximo Villamarin made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Maximo Villamarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Xosepe Villamizar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Reign's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xosepe Villamizar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Red Reign's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dawid Ratulowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Cristian Sancho scored 2-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dawid Ratulowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Maximo Villamarin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximo Villamarin in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 74th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Red Reign's Derlis Florentin was substituted for Zigor Ardanza. In the 80th match minute, Red Reign was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lopez Portanares to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Red Reign's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dawid Ratulowski came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dawid Ratulowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. With an all-out effort, Red Reign's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maximo Villamarin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Maximo Villamarin scored 4-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
