In the 4th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Grigore Constantin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigore Constantin having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Oniga in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Miercani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Grigore Constantin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Grigore Constantin made a huge save. Grigore Constantin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felix Montenegro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. After 24 played minutes Miercani got a freekick which was hit by Horia Zăreanu. 27 minutes into the match, Miercani's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Grigore Constantin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
