Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Huracan FC's Arne Pettersson managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Arne Pettersson. 36 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Pettersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5.
