The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maksim Ivaschenko got free with Julio Vera in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Konstantin Lukyanovich. After 45 played minutes FK Amur got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Tihonovich. When Klim Lukin fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FK Amur's protests and gave Klim Lukin a yellow card for diving instead. The FK Amur players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Konstantin Lukyanovich stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 86th match minute, FK Amur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikolay Sychev to maneuver through the defense. Pavel Tihonovich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maksim Ivaschenko in the 94th minute of the match.
