Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Filomeno Marko got the match started through his kick off. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Mário Súľovský tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mário Súľovský made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mário Súľovský made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Mário Súľovský made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de La Plata's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mário Súľovský came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Súľovský was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Estudiantes de La Plata's Mário Súľovský played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 24th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Marko, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Albino Viviano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. 29 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mário Súľovský made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Mário Súľovský came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Albino Viviano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mário Súľovský. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. Mário Súľovský showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 58th minute of the match. Estudiantes de La Plata's Mário Súľovský proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Estudiantes de La Plata from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de La Plata's Florentino Rodas. But to his dismay, Florentino Rodas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Mário Súľovský showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mário Súľovský. Joel Gaona showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Estudiantes de La Plata made a substitution. Tadeusz Rasialdo replaced Seber Piñera. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Florentino Rodas got a free kick in the 81st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Cazalla during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd minute, one of Mexico:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mexico. Dante Lacasa had in the 84thth minute some difficulties stopping Florencio Ponc's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 87thth minute of the game Filomeno Marko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mário Súľovský showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mário Súľovský. Mário Súľovský dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Marko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mário Súľovský made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Súľovský breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
