The audience thought a goal was coming when Arman Başarman got free with Fiori Mota in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Orhan Seyfi Üstün made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Postelnicescu in the 6th minute of play. After 17 played minutes H E P T A N got a freekick which was hit by Kıraç Ergüden. Orhan Seyfi Üstün showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Postelnicescu in the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Vila Nova FC's Cléber Basso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Orhan Seyfi Üstün narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Orhan Yalvaç in the 22nd minute of play forced Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper Fiori Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orhan Seyfi Üstün made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mete Nared in the 23rd minute of play. Orhan Seyfi Üstün stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mete Nared's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Orhan Seyfi Üstün came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Nova FC's Mete Nared. But to his dismay, Mete Nared quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 32nd minute Vladimir Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orhan Seyfi Üstün saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orhan Seyfi Üstün took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Postelnicescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Vladimir Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orhan Seyfi Üstün saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fiori Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Orhan Yalvaç in the 41st minute of play. Fiori Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murat Şenalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute of the match, Mete Nared got a very nice opportunity to score, but Orhan Seyfi Üstün was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vila Nova FC's Fiori Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murat Şenalp in the 85th minute of play. After 96 played minutes H E P T A N got a freekick which was hit by Ekber Sadir. Vila Nova FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
