The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Faustão de Moraes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With an all-out effort, Ciseski‘s's Romeu Borges threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Romário, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Faustão de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Luiz Souto in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão de Moraes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Faustão de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeu Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Romário, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Pedro Luiz Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39thth minute of the game Roberto Romário who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barra EC's Romeu Borges was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Luiz Souto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Barra EC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmond Boureau came free, but Romeu Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barra EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 69th minute of the match, Pedro Luiz Souto got a very nice opportunity to score, but Faustão de Moraes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience was convinced that Roberto Romário's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romeu Borges was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Romeu Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dé Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The supporters of Ciseski‘s booed when Barra EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barra EC made a substitution. Dito Vander replaced Olavo Ceresso. Barra EC's Roger Cearense was substituted for Manuel Loyola. A collision led to Barra EC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Olavo Ceresso hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Recife in the 86th minute of play forced Barra EC's goalkeeper Romeu Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romeu Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Romário in the 87th minute of the match. When Edmond Boureau came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ciseski‘s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmond Boureau couldn't finish the play. Faustão de Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Luiz Souto in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Barra EC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
