Rogelio Policarpio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, SHIZUOKA FC's Rogelio Policarpio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Abraham Alguacil's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dário Pinho firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Rogelio Policarpio came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the SHIZUOKA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Policarpio couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Policarpio in the 66th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isidoro Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. SHIZUOKA FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
