CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Sílvio Dantas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes in the game, Genko Balevski fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Melquiades Amor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 28 minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. In the 30th minute, Cícero da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 31 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. In the 33rd minute, Rene Sergi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Amor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of play. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Melquiades Amor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 80th minute. Tomas Illescas in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Melquiades Amor, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genko Balevski in the 85th minute of play. After 90 played minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Genko Balevski. Melquiades Amor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 92nd minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
