Abel Carballo's late challenge caught a La Candela FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of La Candela FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silverio Lluterio's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Lu Yang Xing had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lu Yang Xing was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-10 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silverio Lluterio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, La Candela FC's Silverio Lluterio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-11. 58 minutes into the game, La Candela FC's Silverio Lluterio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. La Candela FC's Guaberto Bitxintxo was substituted for Gonzalo Soin. La Candela FC's Laurenz Goddez was substituted for Lu Yang Xing. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Servando in the 72nd minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when La Candela FC's Damian Servando fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ramiro Gabrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Alcocer, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The audience was convinced that Damian Servando's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Damian Servando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurenz Goddez in the 95th minute of play. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 0-17 when Damian Servando sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Candela FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
