Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Rodolfo Cordeiro came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Jonathan Errapel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Santa Maradona's Cecilio Beltxe got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Santa Maradona's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Santa Maradona's Jonathan Errapel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Transito in the 42nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Transito in the 42nd minute of the match. If Laureano Sustrai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Errapel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
