Henrik Möllgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute of the match SSC Ambrosini got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jan Malm ran over to the corner to take the kick. Henrik Möllgren did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Julio Vera 15 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, SSC Ambrosini's Henrik Möllgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrik Möllgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Glanselius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Glanselius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 35th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Andino in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Glanselius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes in the game, Luis Andino dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Henrik Möllgren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrik Möllgren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Aaron Glanselius in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SSC Ambrosini's Aaron Glanselius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play. Camilo Gisbert made in the 82nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luis Andino however managed to control. After a rather tough play, SSC Ambrosini's Dylan Draper got a free kick in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Möllgren in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but SSC Ambrosini were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
