The corner led Dal 3ello's Davi Dal Bello to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Davi Dal Bello got free with Julio Vera in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute, Davi Dal Bello reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 2-0. Dal 3ello made a substitution. Ronaldo Dal Bello replaced Leopoldo Loureiro. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Dal 3ello's Igor Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play. Igor Taffarel had great luck who in the 80thth minute grab hold of the ball when Cristian Sancho from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Ronaldo Dal Bello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Ronaldo Dal Bello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Dal Bello in the 91st minute of the match. If Ronaldo Dal Bello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo Dal Bello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The Dal 3ello players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
