Juan Sebastián Puig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Simão Santos scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. After 22 played minutes Warren FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Machado. Primitivo Andino made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Felix Montenegro however managed to control. In the 27th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Warren FC - DMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Warren FC - DMZ booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simão Santos to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Santos in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Cristian Sancho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bernardo Moreira, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Giorgian Arrascaeta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Giorgian Arrascaeta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Bermudo in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Warren FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betão da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Moreira having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Warren FC - DMZ's Ladislao Bermudo got a free kick in the 96th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Warren FC - DMZ could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
