Joinville Esporte Clube's Júnior Zanette was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcos Cotilla in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Lara in the 44th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Jerry Uchiha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Uchiha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Joinville Esporte Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
