Bieito Luzuriaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After taking down the ball on ALIANZA 1901's corner Nazario Ispuzua fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. Bieito Luzuriaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Francisco Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 24 minutes, Richie Ason mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ALIANZA 1901 and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Richie Ason kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Escobar in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute Luis Escobar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Luis Escobar put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bieito Luzuriaga having to interfere. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Seco was the one to do the kick off. Francisco Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of ALIANZA 1901 booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richie Ason got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 56th minute, Richie Ason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Luis Escobar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 60th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bieito Luzuriaga. ALIANZA 1901's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 69th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Sainz to maneuver through the defense. Camilo Franco kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Bruno Beldad hit a great ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Tomasini, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Uruguay fans cheered their team off the field, for while ALIANZA 1901 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
