An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Sá in the 22nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Sá came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tarcisio Couto was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Aníbal Sá almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. In the 35th minute Nilmar de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar de Moraes in the 37th minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Lima to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Loyola in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Loyola in the 79th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Mina scored 3-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haroldo Dante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Peru fully deserved thier win.
