The 董博威 was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 姜宁升 in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. Isidoro Sarmiento took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 董博威. 董博威 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After having played for 55 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Sarmiento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 莫松响 struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
