To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Carlos Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The audience was convinced that Felix Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos Andrade was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krakaca Neto in the 40th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Futuros FC's Krakaca Neto. But to his dismay, Krakaca Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krakaca Neto in the 68th minute of play. João Carlos Andrade made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Futuros FC's João Carlos Andrade got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 76 minutes Futuros FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this João Carlos Andrade quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 79 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Krakaca Neto's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Krakaca Neto put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Futuros FC's Krakaca Neto got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Futuros FC's João Carlos Andrade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Futuros FC from getting a goal against them. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Fernandes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcos Fernandes went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The Futuros FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
