The audience thought a goal was coming when Goren Baños got free with Julio Vera in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huang Bing Ran in the 4th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, 1947 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Marcelino Nuxila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 19 minutes into the game, 1947 FC's Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind 1947 FC's goalkeeper Marcelino Nuxila, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, 1947 FC's Melchor Xacintu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huang Bing Ran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 played minutes, 1947 FC's Huang Bing Ran shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 1947 FC reached it. Marcelino Nuxila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play forced 1947 FC's goalkeeper Marcelino Nuxila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Goren Baños shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelino Nuxila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Marcelino Nuxila made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huang Bing Ran in the 73rd minute of play. Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 1947 FC made a substitution. Americo Artal replaced Gustavo-Hernán Vallejo. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Artal came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the match 1947 FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Huang Bing Ran ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Jordan Poole got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in 1947 FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Nuxila came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Melchor Xacintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
