When Antonio Manex came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Manzano FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Manex couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Florín Friederichs scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nazario Ronaldo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 62 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julian Rocendo, 2-2. Felix Montenegro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Julian Rocendo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julian Rocendo narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
