Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Lanús's Roberto Puch started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roberto Puch succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 11th playminute. A sloppy throw-in by Salvador Gisbert in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lanús's Blair York. In the 18th play minute Roberto Puch came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. 3-0. In the 23rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Joshua Secada in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lanús's 范枫青. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Roberto Puch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Roberto Puch received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Roberto Puch slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 29th minute. Roberto Puch might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roberto Puch ran back to his position shaking his head. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Puch came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Puch in the 34th minute. Roberto Puch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Roberto Puch recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Roberto Puch showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. Venezuela's Alex Chicote managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Benjamin Venceslas in the 38 minute of the game. 41 minutes into the game, Roberto Puch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.
Lanús's Eloy Gaskon was substituted for Roberto Puch. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Lanús's Eloy Gaskon got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Eloy Gaskon notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 65th minute, Eloy Gaskon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Lanús's Eloy Gaskon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lanús's Eloy Gaskon got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Eloy Gaskon notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 77 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Barros came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Chicote made in the 82nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lanús's Benjamin Venceslas. Lanús's Baldomero Suarez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Lanús from getting a goal against them. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Eloy Gaskon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lanús's supporters rose to their feet, but Eloy Gaskon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eloy Gaskon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute Eloy Gaskon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Gaskon in the 91st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Baldomero Suarez. Baldomero Suarez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 8-1. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lanús had played much better football throughout.
