When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. ALIANZA 1901's Guilabertus Bermudez was substituted for Alfredo Tomasini. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. If Guilabertus Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Bieito Luzuriaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 11th minute. Nazario Ispuzua, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Escobar's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Escobar in the 21st minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Noboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Guilabertus Bermudez notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bieito Luzuriaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 28th minute of play. The corner led Costa Rica's Axel Tasis to fire away a dangerous shot which Bieito Luzuriaga despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilabertus Bermudez in the 34th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Escobar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Escobar, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by ALIANZA 1901's Guilabertus Bermudez. But to his dismay, Guilabertus Bermudez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis Escobar to strike the kick off in the second half. 1-4 became the score in the 59th minute when Luis Escobar elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Luis Escobar 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-5. In the 71st minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guilabertus Bermudez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Sanz firmly grabbed it by the left post. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nazario Ispuzua was slow to take the kick. During this time ALIANZA 1901's players had a chance to rest. In the 76th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guilabertus Bermudez went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. Luis Escobar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Luis Escobar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Guilabertus Bermudez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 1-8. ALIANZA 1901's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
