The supporters of Venezuela booed when Western Springs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilbert Hatfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Western Springs FC's Garrett Brock shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. 10 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Western Springs FC the free kick. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garrett Brock in the 12th minute of play. Lionel Egan struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Western Springs FC. 17 minutes into the match, Western Springs FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Hal Mackey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emmanuel Corley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emmanuel Corleys short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 28th minute of play forced Western Springs FC's goalkeeper Hal Mackey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Western Springs FC's Monroe Munoz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Garrett Brock sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After 36 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. When Lionel Egan came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Western Springs FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel Egan couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerry McDonald in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Kerry McDonald's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Hal Mackey in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Western Springs FC's Lionel Egan in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emmanuel Corley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Patricio Costa was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel Egan came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry McDonald in the 79th minute of the match. Western Springs FC's Kerry McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Kerry McDonald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Emmanuel Corley took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Western Springs FC from getting a goal against them. Western Springs FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
